You've made it through January! The bakery has now been back open for just over a month and it’s been great to be back. We have got a scrumptious menu for you this month featuring a new recipe using our ready to roll pastry and a heartwarming pie. Whether you are in need of an easy evening meal this February or want to impress some guests this menu is a real crowd pleaser.
Our first item on this month's menu uses our trusted favourite ready to roll pastry! This vegan and gluten-free pastry tart with fetta cheese from Best Recipes makes for a great appetiser on arrival. Make a full quiche or try lining some individual tins to make the perfect bite size mini quiches. This recipe is also extremely versatile as you could swap out the kale for spinach or why not try some adding in some broccoli?
A staple British pie from The Pie Life this main is packed full of top side Staffordshire beef cooked in St Peter’s Dark Ale alongside carrots and onions all wrapped up in a freshly made shortcrust pastry. Yet another award-winning pie at the 2019 British Pie Awards we love to pair it with some mash potato, roasted parsnips and asparagus. If you want to take this dish to the next level top with some delicious homemade onion and ale gravy made from your favourite gluten free beer.
There's nothing quite like a comforting chocolate cake on a cold evening. Our gluten free AND vegan chocolate cake is irresistable. Filled and topped with rich, dark chocolate fondant which will please any chocoholic! We think this cake is great on its own, however, slightly warmed and served with some warm cream on the side it becomes a gooey delight.
