These yummy little cups from Lets Eat Smart are not only gluten free but also vegetarian and are just so simple to make. Use our ready to roll sweet almond pastry to line some mini tart tins and spoon in your favourite peanut butter and chocolate and hey presto! Bake in the oven until the pastry is cooked and you have some great pastry treats and evening desserts that everyone with a sweet tooth can enjoy. You can even swap out the chocolate for your favourite vegan alternative and make your tarts vegan. Just be careful of the mess from chocolate and peanut butter that can occur as part of making these gooey delights!
Now there are plenty of gluten free cornflake options out there it's time to revisit this classic family dessert. We love this simple recipe from BBC Good Food which benefits from using our sweet almond pastry again. Simply precook the base and heat up your butter, syrup and sugar in a small pan making sure to closely supervise younger members of the family or do this step for them. Then layer on a generous helping of fruity jam of your choice for the base and put your cornflake mix on top and bake for a couple of minutes until golden. It’s only right to serve this old favourite with some custard!
These bite-size jam tarts are perfect for kids' lunchboxes! We love this handy little recipe from Movers and Bakers. There are so many variations you can try when it comes to jam tarts from raspberry to lemon curd. Just use our tried and tested shortcrust pastry and add your desired filling and bake them for around ten minutes in the oven. You can even have a little fun by decorating them with different shapes with leftover pastry to make them look even better. Just make sure you allow them to cool in the tray for a few minutes after as the jam can get quite hot!
